VS RACE 2021
The Texture Vs Race Summit is BACK and heading to Turf Valley Resort in Maryland on May 24th - 26th for three days of textured hair curriculum, hands-on education, and safe space conversations surrounding hair texture and race.
We’re talking about all things textured hair that many cosmetology schools have failed to teach us, from cutting, coloring, and hot tool styling. The beauty industry is STILL heavily segregated. As a result, many stylists do not receive education on curly, kinky, and coily hair. This leads to uncomfortable client situations when a stylist is unsure of how to do their hair and enforces racial stereotypes or assumptions based on hair.
Join us as we continue to make way for inclusion in the beauty industry through education and perspective widening conversations. For more information about Texture Vs Race, you can listen to our founder Keya Neal on Hair Love Radio and PassionedSqared, or read about the 2019 Texture Vs Race Summit.
