Day 1 kicks off with a thought-provoking class on the "Language of Texture" led by Texture VS Race founder, Keya Neal. Keya will delve into the cultural significance of natural hair, breaking down texture on a cultural level. Trainers will gain valuable insights into identifying various components of texture, applying their existing knowledge, and effectively sharing information that reflects an inclusive teaching approach. In addition, Keya will foster crucial conversations around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), encouraging students to reflect on racial and textural biases within the industry and within themselves. By the end of the day, participants will walk away with a heightened understanding of the cultural importance of natural textures, the tools to challenge ingrained biases, and the technical knoweldge to diagnose hair as a fabric.

Day 2 brings an up-close approach to learning with our "Look & Lean-In" Texture Clinicals and the Hydro Discovery Method. Attendees have the opportunity to rotate between multiple stations staffed by the experienced Texture VS Race team during the Hydro Discovery Session. Engage with live models, observe closely, and feel free to ask questions throughout the process. This interactive session will cover a wide range of topics, including dry consultations, texture analysis, wet consultations/analysis, detox, detangling, product usage, and styling techniques, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the entire styling process.

To reinforce the skills learned during the Look & Lean-In session, we have a dedicated Hands-On Texture Styling Segment. Under the guidance of the talented Texture VS Race team members, attendees will practice and refine their styling and care techniques. This segment allows for a deeper exploration of the methods demonstrated earlier, providing a hands-on experience that will boost your confidence in working with various hair textures.
